What to Watch | July 13 – 15, 2012

Could always watch a stream on your iPhone, iPad or AndroidLast week was the EVOLUTION 2012 Fighting Game tournament and it was so exciting, that I’m still exhausted.  Between that, July 4th festivities and beginning to move, it can be difficult to watch some of the gaming streams out there.  That’s when you just bring the laptop around the house with you and start watching in other rooms while you do chores and what not.  That leads me to the following question.  What is your ideal setup to watch livestreams?  Do you just sit down at your computer desk and watch?  Do you watch with your laptop in the bed?  Do you go outside and then watch on your phone?  Leave us a comment down below and let us know!

If you have an event you would like to have featured on What to Watch, please send an email to joey@g33kwatch.com or leave us a note with all the vital details in the comments below.

Competitive Gaming

NASL Season 3 Grand Finals

Season 3 of the North American Star League is coming to an end this weekend, which is of course very exciting.  Watching some of the best Starcraft II players duke it out will be exciting enough, but the NASL has even more!  There will be additional streams showing off the Tribes: Ascend Grand Finals, along with the Starcraft II Canadian Nationals tournaments.  While the gaming action will be top notch, the event has also brought out the top notch commentators that will keep the excitement level high.

Dates: June 14 – July 15, 2012 | 11 AM ET
Games Played:

  • Starcraft II
  • Tribes: Ascend

Starcitygames.com Open Series – St. Louis

Bet you weren’t expecting to be able to watch some CCG action this weekend, did you?  This weekend, live from St. Louis, watch as people duke it out playing Magic: The Gathering.  Find out new strategies, or just drool over cards that you may never ever have.  Should be fun either way!

Games Played:

  • Magic: The Gathering

SKTAR Smash Bros

While EVO 2012 may have just happened last weekend, there is still some fighting game action to be had.  Granted, it’s a little bit different than what you may be used to, but still fun!  This week there is a large group of gamers playing Super Smash Bros: Brawl for lots of prize money.  It’s really interesting seeing people play what is generally considered a casual game at such high levels, so give it a try.
