Princes of the Fantasy Football Universe – g33kBowl Week 10 Predictions

Big thanks to Paul for writing this week’s article.  Hope you enjoy and I’ll be back next week for your regularly scheduled predictions!

Queen provides some of the best sports music you can ask forThe Fantasy Football Must Go On – g33kbowl Week 9 predictions.

Last week, a terrible tragedy befell the nation.

There were no week 9 predictions for the g33kwatch Fantasy Football league.

Seriously though, with folks up and down the East Coast still without power, I figured I’d pitch in and write my first ever article for g33kWatch. As Freddie Mercury has told us, time and time again, the show must go on. As we come down the final stretch to the playoffs, there are the teams sweating their position on top, the mass in the middle, fighting tooth and nail for each win, and those few on the bottom whose joy is simply in playing spoiler to someone else’s playoff hopes and hoping for a better draft next year. And if there was one thing I could choose to inspire everyone to victory it would be the awesome music of Queen.

Onto the predictions!

Joey V Prediction Record: (35-13-1)

Week 10 Matchups

Zombie Black Bears
Tuchanka Thresher Maw’s
Killer Queen Under Pressure

The Tuchanka Thresher Maws don’t have a bad team, but they do have the trouble of having the second most points scored against them than any other team in the league. A trend that will not get any easier this week as they run into the Zombie Black Bears. Lucky for them, both Hakeem Nicks and Percy Harvin are questionable and that could be the slight edge the Thresher Maws need.

Predicted Winner: Tuchanka Thresher Maw’s

The Besaid Aurochs
Citadel Spectres
I Want To Break Free Flash

The Besaid Aurochs have been working in fits and starts, and if there was a time for them to push it would be now. But with two of her starters on bye, it will be tough. Luckily for her, the Citadel Spectres roster looks in worse shape than Shepard at the beginning of Mass Effect 2. With a couple of smart grabs on the waiver wire, The Besaid Aurochs can win this game and get closer to the hopes of the playoffs.

Predicted Winner: The Besaid Aurochs

Scottish Highlanders
God Save The Queen
Princes Of The Universe

The IISOU’s have had a rough time of it this year, with both injuries and under-performing players. Luckily for him, the Scottish Highlanders have four players starting on bye this week and don’t have enough players to plug the gaps. Look for ARRGAN IISOU to coast to victory on the performances of the Steelers D and Vick Ballard.

Predicted Winner: ARRGAN IISOU

Cydonia Chryssalids
Lunaris Robunnys
Don’t Stop Me Now Bohemian Rhapsody

Last week, the Lunaris Robunnys were working in perfect harmony, even after the high ankle sprain to Darren McFadden. This week, they go up against my Chrysalids, who will be sorely missing Trent Richardson as he takes a week off for the bye. As much as I want to say I win. I think the relentless Bears D will win this one for the Robunnys and put a severe cramp in my playoff chances.

Predicted Winner: Lunaris Robunnys

Hopped Up Titans
NJ Fear Boners
Another One Bites The Dust Keep Yourself Alive

The Titans have had a great season, and I don’t expect that to stop here. The only things that could throw some wrenches into the works would be Brandon Marshall being shut down completely by the Texans. But with the NJ Fear Boners players running into the black hole that is the Pittsburgh D, Michael’s going to need stellar performances out of Drew Brees and a few other players, and I just don’t think it’ll happen. Still, there’s time to work the waiver wire!

Predicted Winner: Hopped Up Titans

Mars Space Cowboys
Binary Rock-Jocks
Who Wants To Live Forever I’m Going Slightly Mad

The Mars Space Cowboys are in rough shape. Injuries, and a GM whose time this year was spent more worrying about his wedding than his team (which is totally justifiable, please don’t hit me). However, with the Binary Rock-Jocks missing two Green Bay players this week due to the bye week and other players being questionable or second string players, this is their time to come through with a victory. Congrats to Pedro on his recent marriage, Binary got you a Win.

Predicted Winner: Mars Space Cowboys

Week 10 Spotlight Match

Hoboken Dread Pirates
Fighting Pacifists
I Want It All We Will Rock You

Want to know how neck and neck the Dread Pirates have been with the Fighting Pacifists all year long? Take a look at the handy chart below.

(Chart courtesy of ESPN)

The predictions are giving the Fighting Pacifists a three point advantage, going into the week, but with Darren Sproles injured, the Pacifists will live and die on Chris Ivory’s success against the Eagles defense. Unfortunately, for me, I think the Dread Pirates will hold on in this contest and increase their record to 8 and 2, getting ever closer to the playoffs, and the g33kbowl trophy.

Predicted Winner: Hoboken Dread Pirates

  1. I love the song choices (if not necessarily the picks :P). Nice job, Paul!

  2. I’m just happy I got a spotlight match! My dream has been achieved. Hope all my east coast peeps have heat and power again.
