About

CosWatch was born from a group of friends who enjoyed going to Anime conventions, and being in front of and behind the camera.  We relished and felt excited anytime someone would stop us and ask for our picture, and we were also the same people who would go up to anyone dressed up as our favorite characters and politely ask for them to stop and be photographed.  Throughout the years, we have made many friends while following the hobby of cosplay, and we felt like it was time to give something back.  It was with this in mind, that we started CosWatch.

It is our attempt to be a bit more active in the cosplaying and convention community, showcasing some of the amazing costumes and people that we meet in our travels from convention to convention.  Rather than just take a bunch of photographs and put them up in no discernible order, we strive to actually to talk to you and see what motivated you to cosplay in the first place.  Why did you pick this costume?  Are you a novice or a veteran of the convention circuit?  Is it all homemade work, or did you get some help?  All of these questions lead to an interesting story, that we want to share with the rest of the community.

Whether it be through pictures, blogs, podcasts or video clips, we want to give you a forum to express yourself.  After the conventions are done, you’ll have a spot to come in and relive some of the memories and to correspond with the new friends you made.  You might even see things you missed along the way, and be able to comment on them!

For an indepth guide on what we look for when trolling around the convention, be sure to read the CosWatch FAQ!

Enjoy the website, and if you see us at a convention, please feel free to stop us and chat for a bit!

  1. My name is Widya Santoso, I maintain the Cosplay/Anime Costuming & Masquerade Links Page, a site that has links to cosplay sites all over the world, from Japan, North America, Britain and Europe, and even one from Australia- (mine!) It includes costumers’ personal pages and convention reports. If you haven’t been there before I invite you to wander around and have a look.

I would like to add your URL to my site- would it be okay to do so? I would certainly like to include your link, with your permission. The URL is

    http://www.nyx.net/~wsantoso/cosplay.html

When replying please add your link to the body of the text so I know who is replying to me. I mail to a lot of people and often I do so through the forums and I won’t recognise the e-mail address.

Please e-mail me at wsantoso@nyx.net- I look forward to hearing from you,

    Widya Santoso
